Bizarre Transportation Laws in the State of Washington

The rest of the state has plenty of bizarre automobile laws as well, many of which are centered on public transportation and taxi companies. For example, in King County, there is only one taxi company that’s authorized to take passengers to and from SeaTac airport by law. All other taxi companies are allowed to pick up passengers from the airport or take passengers to the airport but cannot do both in one trip.

The state’s public buses are no stranger to weird laws either. In the state of Washington, it is illegal for passengers to carry an aquarium for a fishbowl on to a bus. The reason given for this law is passenger comfort: The sound of the water sloshing around while the bus is moving could be a potential disturbance to other passengers.
